“When we were tji tji’s (children) we were all playing in the water at Iwantja Creek, me and all the other kids. We all grew up in wiltja’s (handmade shelter) down at that creek; my family wiltja was made of really big trees and had tjanpi grass as a bed and we would put more tjanpi on top of us for a blanket. I have travelled all over Australia for meetings, for singing, and to do special inma (cultural dance and songs.) I have been an artist at Iwantja Arts for a very long time, and I remember stories about my country that my family taught me. It’s important to remember these stories always.”
