Harvey Art Projects USA in collaboration with Ninuku Artists of South Australia & gallery nine5 Soho NYC, are proud to present the forthcoming exhibition ANCIENT LAND:NEW TERRITORY  "MANTA IRITITJANGKU NGUR KUTJUPALAKUTU" a group exhibition by the men & women of Ninuku Arts of SouthAustralia.

Ninuku Arts is an emerging desert art center just over 5 years old is based in Kalka in the western APY (Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara) Lands. This exhibition will be their first USA exhibition & the most extensive and impressive body of work Ninuku Artists has produced to date featuring thirty spectacular paintings. 

 Ancient Land New Territory NYC Cultural Events Program (May 30 - June 2) This program will feature a short documentary film presentation of a new film entirely  self-funded by the art centre and created in the Kalka community in 2011. It features interviews with artists who are involved in the show, provides insight into the environment where the paintings derive and footage taken in the art centre itself. Anthropologist and fluent Pitjantjatjara speaker, Dr Diana James & filmmaker Rachael Thornton filmed, edited and produced. The Opening Reception at gallery nine5 in Soho will feature a performance of "Inma" by two visiting guest artists, Yangi Yangi Fox & Puntjina Monica Watson who will travel from Australia to New York. A full-colour, 60 page exhibition catalogue will also be available both within Australia and internationally.

Forty Years of Papunya Tula Artists

In February Harvey Art Projects proudly opened a very special 40th anniversary USA exhibition from the founders of the Western Desert Art Movement. Papunya Tula Artists: Forty Years  was also held in conjunction with a cocktail party fundraiser evening. General Manager, Mr. Paul Sweeney gave a wonderful presentation which included an art auction. Proceeds from this event will assist the Papunya Tula Aged Care Fund.

We sincerely thank all those who attended this great evening.

In December 2011, Harvey Art Projects featured a very special exhibit of mesmerizing bark paintings, spirit figures and ceremonial poles from the highly acclaimed artists from the Buku Larrngay Mulka Art Center, of Yirrkala, Northern Territory. The exhibit was held in conjunction with a unique Cultural Events Program "A Yolngu World" in which our visiting guest Artist, Wukun Wanambi & Art Center Manager Kade McDonald presented a series of short films, artists talks & traditonal ceremonial opening at the Gallery.
